Privacy Policy
Effective October 15, 2026
- We collect very little. Your games live on your device and in your own iCloud account, which we cannot see.
- The Game has no ads, no in-app purchases, and no analytics or tracking tools.
- We do not sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- If you join our launch list, we keep your email address only to tell you about the Game.
- You can ask us to see or delete your information at any time.
1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Soup Dumpling Software LLC ("Soup Dumpling Software", "we", "us" or "our") collects when you play Lantara: A Republic Rises or visit playlantara.com (together, the "Game"), how we use it, and the choices and rights you have. Soup Dumpling Software is the company responsible for your information. Please also read our Terms of Service.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Launch list. If you sign up on our website to hear when the Game launches, we keep your email address, the time you signed up and, if you arrived through one of our ads, the campaign tag in that ad's link.
- Messages to us. If you email us, we keep your email address and whatever you choose to tell us.
Game Center
If you are signed in to Game Center, the Game uses Apple's Game Center to post your weekly Speed Run results to a leaderboard and to record your achievements. Apple runs Game Center; other players can see your Game Center name, your time and your rank on the leaderboard. We can see leaderboard entries and the Game Center names on them, but not your Apple Account email address, contacts or password.
Purchases
You buy the Game through your app store. The store handles payment and sends us sales reports, which do not identify you to us. We never receive your payment card details. The Game has no in-app purchases.
Information collected automatically on our website
Like most websites, our servers and our hosting and security providers automatically log technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request and the time of each request. We use this to run, secure and fix the site. Our site does not use cookies for advertising or tracking. It uses your browser's own storage only to remember, during one visit, which ad link brought you, so we can count which ads work. Our fonts are served from our own site, not a font service.
3. What stays on your device and in your iCloud
Your saved games, settings, unlocked leaders and scenarios, and your best results are stored on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, the Game also keeps your saved games and unlocks in your own iCloud account so they follow you to your other devices. That data is stored by Apple in your iCloud account under Apple's privacy policy; we do not receive it and cannot read it.
The Game does not collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera or health data. Its voices are recordings that ship with the Game. It does not include third party advertising or analytics tools. If this ever changes, we will update this policy first and ask for your permission where the law requires it.
4. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- run the Game's leaderboard and achievements;
- let you know when the Game launches, if you asked us to;
- answer your messages and give support;
- keep the Game and our website safe, prevent cheating, fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms;
- find and fix problems and make the Game better; and
- follow the law and respond to lawful requests.
We do not use your information for targeted advertising, and we do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects.
5. Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on these legal bases: performing our contract with you (to run the Game and its leaderboard); our legitimate interests (to keep the Game safe, fix problems and improve it, where those interests are not outweighed by your rights); your consent (for the launch list, which you can withdraw at any time); and compliance with legal obligations.
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross context behavioral advertising. We share information only:
- With service providers who host our website and data, secure our network and deliver email, under contracts that only let them use it to provide services to us;
- With platform providers such as Apple, which run the App Store, iCloud and Game Center that the Game uses. They handle your information under their own privacy policies;
- With other players, who can see your Game Center name and Speed Run results on the leaderboard;
- For legal reasons, if we believe in good faith it is needed to follow the law or a legal process, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our players, the public or us;
- In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to protect your information; and
- With your permission, or at your direction.
7. How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy. We keep the launch list until shortly after launch, or until you ask to be removed. Website logs are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting. We keep support emails as long as needed to help you and to meet legal requirements.
8. Your choices
- Game Center: you do not have to use it. You can sign out of Game Center in your device settings.
- iCloud: you can turn off iCloud for the Game, or sign out, in your device settings. Your saves then stay on that device only.
- Launch list: email us to be removed at any time.
- Progress on your device: deleting the Game removes the data it stored on your device. Saves in your iCloud can be removed in your device's iCloud storage settings.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including California and other US states with privacy laws, and the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it, in a portable format where the law provides;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete your information;
- object to or restrict certain uses, and withdraw consent you gave;
- opt out of the sale of your personal information, sharing for targeted advertising, and certain profiling (we do not do any of these, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals); and
- not be treated differently for using your rights.
To make a request, email [email protected]. Because we hold so little information, it helps to include the email address you used with us or your Game Center name. We will verify your request in a way that fits the information involved, and we respond within the time the law requires (for example, 45 days under California law, or one month in the EEA and UK). You may use an authorized agent, and we may ask for proof of their authority. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response, and if you are still not satisfied you may contact your state attorney general or your local data protection authority.
California notice. In the past 12 months we have collected the categories described in Section 2: identifiers (such as email address and Game Center names on our leaderboard) and internet activity (website logs). We collected them from you, your device and your platform providers, for the purposes in Section 4, and disclosed them only as described in Section 6. We have not sold or shared personal information for targeted advertising, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
10. Children
The Game is meant for players 13 and older, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, please email [email protected] and we will delete it.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, such as encrypted connections and limited access. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of information you send us.
12. International transfers
We are based in the United States, and your information is processed in the United States and wherever our service providers and platform providers operate. These places may have different data protection laws from where you live. Where the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for these transfers.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a material change, we will let you know, for example in the Game or on this page, before the change takes effect.
